Pervasive Display Systems - Website
Submitted by admin on Thu, 05/20/2010 - 10:59.We have extracted our findings and results in the field of "Pervasive Display Systems" to a dedicated website http://www.pervasive-displays.org/.
OpenMoko on the i.MX31
Submitted by admin on Fri, 07/11/2008 - 09:57.As a proof of concept for our build environments, we have ported the OpenMoko runtime to an i.MX31 board that is being developed by Bluetechnix (http://www.bluetechnix.at/).
The screenshot shows the startup screen on a QVGA display (most applets disabled, and with the terminal emulator as the start application) - crowded but working.
Media Space Navigator @ netculture.lab
Submitted by admin on Mon, 06/02/2008 - 06:25.The Media Space Navigator is being showed in the Vienna based netculture.lab during the Do it yourself (DIY) – make your own thing exhibit:
The exhibition is open until June 24.
Gumstix Video out board :: Kopin K230LV adapter
Submitted by admin on Tue, 05/06/2008 - 14:32.
We've created a small prototype board that converts the LCD bus signals of the gumstix boards into
an analog video stream for Kopin's K230LV microdisplay devices (it would propably work with other devices/resolutions as well, but we haven't tested this yet).
The attached photo shows the gumstix with adapter board on top and a kopin display module, which is connected over a small adapter PCB (we need to replace the connector on the next production run).
Media Space Navigator @ ITnT
Submitted by admin on Tue, 02/05/2008 - 08:25.The Media Space Navigator can be seen at the ITnT, 5.-7. Feb 08 at the Telekom Austria booth in the "Technologiepark". The navigator provides an efficient user interface to browse VoD movies and EPG entries alike based on similarity measures and personal preferences.
For more information, have a look at the Telekom Austria announcement
ZigBee for Linux :: Gumstix to Meshnetics ZigBit adapter
Submitted by admin on Mon, 10/15/2007 - 15:00.We have set up a compact ZigBee environment using the ZigBit Meshnetics modules connected to a Gumstix via a ttl-level serial interface. This lets you duplicate the scenario provided by the Meshnetics developer kit, where the coordinator node is connected to a PC via serial (or USB).
If there's enough interest & time, we'll do small run of PCBs.
Fotos will follow as soon as the glue has dried...
ZigBee for Linux :: CC2420 Gumstix board
Submitted by admin on Mon, 10/08/2007 - 13:48.We have finished the first version of our Gumstix-ZigBee adapter that interfaces a CC24240 transceiver to the ARM board. A small kernel module enables access to the PHY-layer, enabling us to sniff packets and bridge directly into the WSN world. A more elaborate stack is in the plans.
Gumstix VGA adapter
Submitted by admin on Tue, 10/02/2007 - 07:06.We have successfully set up our initial gumstix vga prototype that converts the digital lcd panel signals to an analog video output that you can use to drive a standard monitor. Memory bus constraints of the pxa CPUs force us down to 640x480 (@16bpp), but that is working fine.
Meshnetics serial programmer for Linux released
Submitted by admin on Tue, 09/18/2007 - 13:03.We have released a small utility to program our Meshnetics modules under Linux. For more details see:
