Short bio:
Bernhard Wally received his BSc from the University of Applied Sciences Hagenberg in Media Technology and Design focusing on image processing and computer vision in 2004. He subsequently received his MSc in Digital Media in 2006, again from the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg, with his master thesis about homogenization of heterogeneous network technologies and respective devices in the home automation industry. He was with the Institut für Pervasive Computing (IPC) from August 2006 to October 2007, before he joined the Research Studio Pervasive Computing Applications where he is currently project manager of the working group display systems. During his time at the IPC Bernhard Wally worked on the project Telekom Austria Cube with the Research Studio Pervasive Computing Application as well as in an industrial cooperation with Siemens AG on context technologies for energy management systems. In his current affiliation he is pursuing his PhD by investigating explicit interaction, media façades and recognition of the visual view of attention of people nearby displays with respect to the research fields public display interaction, distributed smart systems and pervasive computing.
Bernhard is a key researcher and the operations manager of the Research Studio Pervasive Computing Applications.
